디트로이트, 파리, 프랑크프르트 등 전세계에는 크고 작은 오토쇼들이 해마다 열리고있다.  그 중 중국의 베이징&상하이 오토쇼는 가장 큰 규모의 글로벌 오토쇼로 급격히 떠오르기 시작하였다. 베이징&상하이 오토쇼 중에는 다양한 이벤트들이 열리는데 여러 이벤트 중 이번에는 Interior Motives china conference 와 Car designers night을 자세히 살펴보고자 한다.

첫째로,  Interior Motives china conference 는  JW Marriott hotel 베이징에서 5월 21-22 이틀간 열렸다. 삼성전자의 마스터 디자이너로 유명하고 전 BMW 디자인 수장이였던Chris bangle, 도요타의 디자인매니저인Simon Humphries, 등 전세계 글로벌 기업에서온40여명의 저명한 디자이너들이 중국에 있는 학생들과 주니어 디자이너등에게 앞으로 자동차 디자인 산업 동향과 트렌드 등을 발표하였다.

첫째 날의 메인 토픽은 Strategy and brand, Perceived quality, Smarter mobility 였다. 빠르게 발전하는 개발도산국! 대표적으로 중국의 디자인 발전을 위한 올바른 절차와 글로벌 브랜드을 현지화 하기위해서 중국시장을 어떻게 이해하여야 하는가 토론하였다.   

둘째 날의 메인 토픽은 디자이너로써 빼놓을 수 없는 창의력에 관한 것이였다.  전세계에서 뽑은 창의적인 패션, 브랜딩, 건축 디자인등을 공유하고 어떻게 중국 자동차 디자인발전에 적용할수 있을까 논의하였다.

컨퍼런스가 열리는 동안 학생, 현지 디자이너, 외국에서 온 파견 디자이너 모두  동일한 위치에서 중국의 디자인과 트렌드 문제점과 해결점 들을 터울 없이 공유하는 열린 기회를 가질 수 있었다

다음으로 4월 23에 베이징Green T. House Living Bath House Residence에서 열린 Car design night 을 소개하고자 한다. 이 이벤트 역시 세계적으로 유명한 탑디자이너들을 직접 만날수 있는 의미있는 기회를 제공하였다. 기아의 부사장이며 K5로 기아만의 브랜디 이미지를 구축한 Peter Schreyer, 중국에서 니산 브랜드를 성공적으로 이끈 니산의 TOYOTA 이외에도 전셰계 자동차 산업에서 중요한 역활을 하고 있는 디자이너들을 모두 볼수 있는 시간이였다.

 자동차 디자이너를 꿈꾸는 학생과 주니어 디자이너들은 전세계에서온 시니어 디자이너들에게 조언을 구하고 시니어 디자이너들은 그들을 통해 신성한 아이디어얻을 뿐아니라 잠정적으로 숨겨진 인재를 찾아내는 리쿠르트의 기회로도 활용하기도 하였다.  전세계가 중국시장과 중국의 인재에 관심을 가지고 있다. 한국에서는 믿기 힘든 기회를 중국디자이너들이 갖게 되는 것도 이러한 이유때문이라고 생각한다.

There are a few auto shows in the world such as Detroit, Paris, and Frankfurt and so on. Among this international Auto show in the world Beijing & shanghai Auto show is emerged as one of the largest and fastest growing Auto in the world. This time I would like to introduce specifically about automotive design event during this amazing Auto show such as Interior Motives china conference and Car designers night.  

Firstly, Interior Motives China Conference holed in JW Marriott Hotel, Beijing on April 21-22. In the conference, 40 prominent designers from every global company in the world including Chris bangle Managing director of Chris bangle associates, Simon Humphries Executive Chief Creative designer of Toyota, gave amazing speech for designers, students, marketing people in china. 

Tile of the first day was Strategy and brand, Perceived quality, Smarter mobility. We share the process of developing design in an increasingly crowded market such as china by understanding your customers and applying your brand. Including how to create 　and sustain brands in China, be their new or established, local or foreign.

Second day was about creative. Creative inputs from the worlds of architecture, clothing, consumer brands and more are all presented  in the conference. We also share the idea of how do we apply them to the design of cars in China.

During this conference Student, local Chinese designers, foreigner designers were all having open opportunity to share the idea of design, trend, problem and solution for Chinese design industry.

Secondly, The Beijing Car Design Night 2012 took place from 7-11pm on Monday, April 23, at Green T. House Living Bath House Residence. It was great chance to meet world top designers Peter Schreyer vice president of KIA who stand middle of the design improvement in KIA, TOYOTA who successfully lead the Nissan design in china as a Chief of Design for NISSAN Group and sure many more principle designers.

Designers all over the world were able to meet their pervious colleague, and school mate in china.  More importantly, young junior designers, and students who are interested in this industry were freely show their work and thought with senior designers to get advice. On the other hand, senior designers got fresh idea and potentially try to find a talented workmate for their design studio which can hardly happen in Korea.
