2024 International Open call for Independent curator

2024년 햇빛담요재단은 국제 큐레이터 공모전을 개최합니다.

With the aim of encouraging curatorial research, Sunblanket Foundation is looking for independent curators to program

and realize contemporary art exhibitions that open up new formal and discursive possibilities for art project.

Sunblanket Foundation is likely to support curators dedicated to emerging art, an international stage where the critical debate

between different realities is enhanced.

A selected Curator will receive around USD 16,000 worth of support throughout the foundation.

- Project Planning Fees : USD 4,000

- Renting Venue Fees : USD 11,500

(1st/2nd floor rent per month, Foundation own)

- Promotion Fees : USD 500 (Press support)

Proposals are evaluated on merit of project, singularity of concept, and adherence to the application guidelines.

●CONDITIONS FOR PROPOSED PROJECT

- Visual Art Projects that already have been shown will be excluded.

●WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

- This is opened to all curators, The CALL is open to proposals by a single curator or by a Curatorial Collective.

●DATES
- All applications will be accepted till 18:00, JAN 31 (Wed), 2024.

●HOW TO APPLY

- All application materials will be accepted via Email ONLY

- Please send in one PDF your CV, a portfolio of relevant realizations and the proposals of one or several exhibitions.

- Since an increased international visibility of curators is an important aim of the

program, it is crucial that participants keep us informed about the development and

realization of the proposed projects. Should something affect the feasibility of your

proposal, please notify Sunblanket Foundation.

File title should be ‘2024 independent curator open call_Name’

- 1st process: Selection by Sunblanket Foundation Curatorial Department and board members.

- 2nd process: Selection by International Jury

- 3rd process: Interview

●RESULTS

- The successful applicant will be announced on the official website, SNS in the end of February
