To Revolutionize Design
The projects being pursued are aimed at fostering the design industry as one of the nation's strategic industries and upgrading the ergonomics of export products to create greater added value. Specifically, efforts are being made to encourage companies to direct more of their energy into innovative design, to develop products, to penetrate new markets, and to foster and establish a unique
brand image backed by an original design.
To Develop Products with Revolutionary Designs
Companies that experience difficulties in securing either qualified manpower in design development or financial resources can benefit from KIDP projects that provide assistance for the development of products with revolutionary designs. Professional designers with abundant field experience and expertise in product development, packaging, and visual design (including internet web sites,
catalogues, and brand-launching) are readily available with design development needs.
Fostering Design Venture Firms
Since KIDP was designated as the institute in charge of assessing the viability of design venture companies, it has fostered venture companies that have been evaluated by its professional evaluation team as having the necessary design technology and capability to commercialize its products. KIDP is also planning to raise a design venture fund to invest in professional design companies with the capacity to commercialize promising design concepts with potential for future growth.
Consulting Service to Local Autonomous Governments
With a view to help local autonomous governments establish their identity and contribute to the establishment and the promotion of Korea's unified national image, KIDP renders assistance in a variety of modes to design projects of local autonomous governments.
This includes improving the image of the urban environment, developing cultural products, and creating mascots and symbols for local autonomous governments.
